At a median 8.1 Mbps download, Iran sits near the back of the field: #106 of 119 ranked countries, well under half the global median of 33.9 Mbps. The world's fastest median belongs to the United States at 144 Mbps, more than 17× the speed measured here.

Uploads trail well behind at 1.3 Mbps, roughly 16% of the download rate: download-tilted technologies such as cable, DSL and mobile broadband still carry most connections. Median latency is 187 ms. That is on the high side: pages and video still load, but calls, gaming and screen sharing carry a visible delay.

The fastest measured provider, Hamrah-e Avval (MCI) at 13 Mbps, sits close to the national median: providers cluster tightly here, so the plan tier you buy matters more than which network you pick.

Desktop and mobile tests land at the same 8 Mbps median, so the experience translates directly across devices; mobile accounts for 61% of tests. Medians barely move by operating system: every measured platform lands around 8 Mbps, so the network, not the device, sets the pace.

Tests from Iran most often reached the Frankfurt test server (44% of the top-server mix), so the figures reflect the routes everyday traffic actually takes.
