For remote job applications

Verified Connection Certificate

Stand out from other applicants

Many remote jobs require fast, reliable internet. Get a certificate that shows your internet speed. The employer can check it in one tap.

SpeedOf.Me has measured internet connections since 2011.

Start with a free 1-minute speed test. Pay only if you want the certificate.

Test on the connection you will use for work (Wi-Fi or a network cable), and pause other downloads.

  • Shows whether you meet the job's minimum speed (if the job has one)
  • Use the same certificate in every application for 30 days
  • Attach the image or paste the certificate link in your application

What it says, and what it does not

  • A record the employer can check. SpeedOf.Me records your result during this test. Our server records the time and your network address; you do not enter them. The certificate code on the image opens our record of your test.
  • Your internet line. The provider and city of the connection you tested, and the type of line: a home line, a business line, a mobile network, or a data center or VPN.
  • Your device and round trips. If your browser reports them: basic details of your device, and how long requests take to reach our servers in a few regions.
  • Your name and phone. Your name as you type it, and a phone number confirmed by a one-time code.
  • Its limits, printed on the certificate itself. Measured in a browser over Wi-Fi or a network cable. Identity and home address not verified. Evidence of the connection used at the time, not a guarantee.

How it works

  1. Test. About a minute, on this page.
  2. Details and payment. Enter the job's speed requirement (optional), your name, email and mobile number. Then pay on a secure page.
  3. Confirm your phone. We text you a one-time code.
  4. Your certificate. You get it right away: the image to attach, its certificate code, and a copy by email.

Questions

What does it cost?

You see the price after your test, before you enter any details. It is in your local currency where possible, with tax included.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in full, if something goes wrong: for example, the certificate never arrives, its certificate page does not work, or we charged you twice. Reply to your certificate email or write to support@speedof.me. If we cannot confirm your test result, no certificate is issued and you are refunded automatically. For any other reason, such as an employer not accepting it, ask within 30 days of buying it and tell us why. We decide each case. After a refund, we withdraw the certificate, and its certificate page says it is no longer valid.

How long is it valid?

30 days from the day it is issued. After that, an employer who opens the certificate page sees that it has expired, and what was recorded.

Which phone numbers can be confirmed?

Mobile numbers in more than 80 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, most of Europe, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and Mexico. The form lists them all.

What happens to my details?

We delete your name, email and phone 30 days after the certificate expires. We keep the result and the provider, without them, as statistics. You can delete the certificate and your details sooner with the private link in your email. See our Privacy Policy.

Who is it for?

Anyone applying for remote work, even if the application does not ask for a speed test: job applicants, freelancers and contractors, and students joining online programs. Attach it to your application, and the employer sees your connection before they have to ask.

The job asks for a backup connection. Can the certificate show it?

Yes. Within 7 days of getting your certificate, use the link in your email to run 1 test on your backup connection (a second line, mobile data or a hotspot). We add it to the same certificate, marked as your backup connection, with its provider and speeds.

Can I add more tests?

Yes. Within 7 days, use the link in your email to add 2 more tests (at least 12 hours apart) and 1 test on a backup connection. Employers then see whether your connection stays fast.
